Posted By Press Release on April 4, 2009

BARSTOW – On Thursday, March 19, 2009, Detective Christi Bill from the Phoenix Police Department called the Barstow Police Department (PD) and requested assistance in a “pimping and pandering” investigation involving a 15-year-old Barstow girl.  Detective Bill told Barstow PD investigators that the Phoenix Police Department rescued a 15-year-old Barstow girl in Phoenix who was being kept by Donte Clark, 20 years old, at his residence against her will.  They arrested Donte Clark for pimping and pandering.  During their investigation, the Phoenix Police department learned that Donte Clark was physically beating and terrorizing the 15-yearo-ld Barstow girl while he had her at his residence.

The Phoenix Police Department requested assistance from the Barstow Police Department because Donte Clark’s brother, Tracy Jones, who recently came to Barstow was threatening and intimidating the victim, by force, not to testify in court against his brother in Phoenix.

On Thursday, March 26, 2009, at 5:18 p.m., Barstow Police Department detectives located Tracy Jones near the intersection of Fredricks Street and 1st Street.  The detectives took Jones into custody without incident.

Investigation revealed that Tracy Jones is a member of a criminal street gang out of San Bernardino, Calif.

Jones was booked at the San Bernardino County sub-station jail in Barstow and charged with 136.1(c)(1) PC – witness intimidation and 186.22(a) PC, street terrorism.

Further investigation is being conducted and persons having information concerning this investigation are asked to call Detective Leo Griego at the Barstow Police Department annex, 760-255-5187, or at the Barstow Police Department, 760-256-2211.  Persons with information and desiring to remain anonymous can call WE-TIP at 1-800-78-CRIME.
