On July 1, 2007 the City of Hesperia, in cooperation with Connect-CTY, launched a new, state of the art citizen notification system. This program allows the City to contact residents in the event of an emergency, severe weather warnings and updates, hazardous traffic conditions, planned and emergency waterline information, planned road closures and much more. Any messages regarding the saftey or welfare of our community can be dispersed using the Connect-CTY service.
The Connect-CTY service allows authorized civic leaders to create and rapidly distribute time-sensitive messages to every telephone number stored in the notification databse. With the Connect-CTY service, authorized users can send thousands of messages in a matter of minutes. Authorized officials record a voice message that is then delivered quickly to individual phones in the notification database.
In general, calls are sent to the primary number only, but the system also has the ability to call mulitple numbers for each resident or business when requested by the resident or business. The City of Hesperia encourages all residents and businesses to update their contact information on this highly advanced citizen notification system.
