ADELANTO • Travis Scott scored on a fielding error by Modesto second baseman Maikol Gonzalez in the 10th inning, and the High Desert Mavericks beat the Nuts 9-8 on Saturday at Stater Bros. Stadium.

Scott led off the bottom of the 10th with a single and was moved over by a Juan Diaz sacrifice bunt. After Tyson Gillies walked, Gonzalez misplayed a ball hit by Jeff Dominguez, allowing Scott to score the winning run.

With High Desert trailing 8-7 in the ninth, Dominguez scored on a Joe Dunigan groundout to force extra innings.

Dominguez went 3-for-6 for High Desert, which finishes out the regular season with two more games against Modesto.
