(Sacramento) – Announcing yet another high-profile GOP endorsement, the Rick Keene for Senate campaign today declared the endorsement of former Senate Republican Leader Jim Brulte.

Former Senator Brulte served 14 years in the California State Legislature, most recently as Senate Republican Leader.  During his tenure in the Legislature he developed a national reputation as a dynamic leader and was described as “arguably the most powerful elected Republican in California.”

“Rick Keene stood out among his colleagues in engaging the tough problems facing California,” said Brulte.  “He was instrumental in helping us reform the workers’ compensation system, and dramatically reduce the Gray Davis deficit, while fighting tax increases and repairing the levees.  In my mind he is the clear choice to aggressively represent Northern California in the State Senate.” Rick has the knowledge, the ability and the integrity.  He will be an outstanding Senator for the North State.” added Brulte.

“I sincerely appreciate Senator Brulte’s endorsement and confidence,” responded Keene.  “It is an honor to be recognized by someone with the record of leadership and accomplishment that Jim has,” said Keene.

Brulte joins a fast-growing list of GOP heavy-hitters endorsing Rick Keene for Senate.  Among these endorsements are those of Congressman Tom McClintock and former North State Senator Tim Leslie.
