Town of Apple Valley: How would you improve James Woody Park?
Posted By Press Release on February 3, 2010
The Town of Apple Valley is applying for a grant to improve James Woody Community Center and needs ideas and input from residents. This grant could allow for improvements to the entire park, including the skate park and planned BMX Bike Park as well as other facilities such as ball fields and amenities.
“A Better Way of Life” starts with community participation; interested residents are invited to share their ideas for park improvements at any of the following community meetings:
Monday, February 8 at 6:30 pm
Wednesday, February 10 at 6:30 pm
Tuesday, February 16 at 10:00 am
Wednesday, February 17 at 6:30 pm
Some points for discussion include
• What would you like to see in a BMX bike park?
• How could we improve the skate park?
• What other improvements could we make to the James Woody Park area?
If successful, the grant funding will be awarded from the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program of 2008 (Prop 84).
Meetings will be held at the James Woody Community Center, 13467 Navajo Road. For more information or to RSVP please contact Joseph Ramos at (760) 240-7880 or jramos@applevalley.org.
