The death of reform in the Capitol? Reform Does Not Exist
Posted By Stephen Frank on February 7, 2010
For years Sacramento has “reformed” our political finance laws. For years the amount spent in politics has increases. Only attorneys, accountants and special interests profited from the phony reforms.
“Repair California, backed by a San Francisco business-led coalition known as the Bay Area Council, wants a constitutional convention authorized by voters, the first in California since 1879. The group has two initiatives one a constitutional amendment and the other an initiative statute — aimed at the November ballot. Both measures were cleared for circulation earlier this month. ”
Everybody knows this is money maker for the promoters and a sure loser by the voters.
The purpose of this measure is to end Prop. 13 and make it easier for politicians to raise taxes. This will go down at least two to one. But, lots of people will make money on this silliness.
This is not the death of reform; this is the next payment on someone’s vacation to Europe.
