Mike Ramos Meets with Gov. Schwarzenegger on Anti-Crime Strategies
Posted By Press Release on February 8, 2010
REDLANDS, CA – As Vice President of the California District Attorneys Association (CDAA), Mike Ramos recently met privately with Governor Schwarzenegger about budget issues impacting the criminal justice system (see attached letter).
“These difficult economic times will require us to do more with less, and still keep our communities safe,” declared Ramos.
Ramos’ aggressive anti-gang programs in the West Valley and High Desert are an example of removing the bad guys from our neighborhoods before they commit crimes. Ramos has partnered with the Sheriff’s Gang Suppression Unit, vertically prosecuting over 4,000 gang members with over 3,000 going to state prison for an aggregate term of 14,000 years, with two sitting on death row. He opposes the early release of prisoners back into our communities.
Ramos is slated to become president of the 90 year old D.A.’s association later this year at a very difficult budgetary time for law enforcement. (http://www.cdaa.org)
“I think it’s terrific that you will be taking over as CDAA president this year. I can’t think of anyone I’d rather have beside me in the foxhole at such a critical time,” stated Governor Schwarzenegger.
