CRP Launches New Website, Tech Initiative at Convention
Posted By Press Release on March 9, 2010
SACRAMENTO – The California Republican Party announced today that it has completed a major upgrade on its main website as the opening stage of an aggressive and innovative direction for its political communication strategy. The new CRP site, www.cagop.org, features a cleaner, more accessible design with feature elements for podcasts and video, easy-to-use connections to state party information, and links to all CRP social media sites including its Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages.
“This year has already seen a dramatic change in the political environment, and we’re committed to take advantage of this momentum shift by revolutionizing the way we communicate. By the time we launch our tech initiative at our Spring Convention, Republicans will have planted more seeds for a broad victory this November,” said CRP Chairman Ron Nehring.
New website. The hub of the CRP’s communications strategy is the new website integrating social media: the party’s Facebook and Twitter pages, plus YouTube channel.
The new CRP tech initiative will be presented at the 2010 Spring Convention during a new technology workshop called “GOP Connect,” hosted by CRP Communications Director Mark Standriff. The workshop will feature Scott Graves, new media expert and co-founder of the Red County political blogs, along with the designers of several exciting new websites and applications that, according to Standriff, will “change the way people think and talk and act politically.”
CRP on Twitter. The CRP’s Twitter feed and YouTube channel are synced with the new website. You can receive the latest updates by following the CRP on Twitter, and even receive updates as text messages on your phone.
Nehring added, “Our new approach can be summed up in three words–faster, earlier, broader. Faster responses to the latest developments, earlier coordination with candidates and volunteers, and broader engagement of every community and every election in the state. We don’t want a narrow victory in 2010. We want the voters to take back all of California.”
