State Deficit Up $10 Billion Since January

“Chiang also released our deficit total $22.3 billion which was measured on Feb. 28. Thats a $10.4 billion increase since January.”

Government loves to confuse.

Revenues are UP by almost $2 billion.

In the past month, the deficit has gone up by $2 billion (without the increased revenue it would be up by $4 billion.)

But the $22 billion General Fund deficit does not include the $3 billion in unsold assets, the $5 billion in unpaid lost lawsuits or the $7.3 billion owed by the unemployment insurance fund.

The total deficit, not to be confused with the over $600 billion debt, of the State of California is $38 billion.
